Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

At Quality Rehabilitation & Respite Care we put a great emphasis on rehabilitation. This can take a number of routes depending on the individual needs of the service user. For some

Rehab pic

this could mean a new routine or relearning forgotten skills. For others this could be help with basic domestic routines from showering to preparing a meal, while for some it could be help with mobility and 24hr care. We all have different needs and the high ratio of staff to 8 service users means that we can accommodate and take that individual's care as a priority.

After an initial assessment, a programme of therapy will be constructed to maximize the individual's potential. It is for this reason that we offer a flexible fee package to ensure that the service user is only invoiced for the care that is specifically design for him.

Equipment

Valley View Barn is supplied with a varied selection of the latest moving and handling equipment to support our residents.

Quality Rehabilitation & Respite care can also supply a wide range of pressure relieving mattresses, profiling beds and cushions as required.

All the en-suite wet rooms have had the thresholds removed to aid access. Grab rails and support aids have been positioned to aid independence with 24hr care on hand all year round.

The Care Plan

A senior member of the team will discuss the individual care plan and agree regular reviews to ensure that the needs and care plan is constantly updated. We would

Care Management

encourage relatives to be involved in the process to ensure that the best possible care and attention to individual detail is taken care of.

Activities

One of the main advantages of Quality Rehabilitation & Respite care is that with 8 residents at anyone time a real sense of flexibility and choice can be offered to all those who choose to stay. There are two lounges available so that despite having large private rooms with private terraces, there is also the option of two communal activities to take place at any one time.

An individual may wish to play cards or be encouraged to take up a rehab activity while others are playing bingo. A choice of lounges ensuring that the one activity on offer is not the only activity available.

Family and friends are encourage to join in so that a stay can be both physically and mentally rewarding.

Lounge and Dining Facilities

Quality Rehabilitation/ Respite Care having converted an old barn and stable block has been able to offer a number of communal spaces and so does not have the restrictions that an old house may bring.

Entertainment

There is the options of dining in the main barn, or potential use of the private lounge if you wish to entertain family or friends. For many a private terrace, weather permitting, is accessable.

There is also a large communal patio for summer dining and barbeques as you over look the wonderful Sussex countryside.

Visitors

Visitors are always welcome and are actively encouraged. The intention at Valley View Barn

Friends

is to make it a home from home and offers a rare open service. Visitors are offered refreshments with hours generally unrestricted. If you wish to dine, you are of course welcome subject to a small charge.

The Building - specifically designed

The real advantage of converting a barn and stable has been the ability to be both generous with the size of the rooms but also with creating a beautiful surrounding ideal for rehabilitation and respite. From the vaulted ceiling to the careful thought given to creating wet rooms, to the removal of thresholds and trip hazards, to the up-to-date call alarm system. Every effort has been made to ensure your or your relatives stay is both stimulating and will leave you secure in the knowledge that the best of personal care is on hand.
